PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. Position Summary
We are searching for a detail oriented, full-time Research Assistant II for our Louisville, KY office (no relocation assistance available). This Research Assistant will primarily assist scientific staff with an evaluation study of the Whole Health Institute courses (wholehealth.org/about-the-whole-health-institute). Additionally, this position will provide general administrative assistance to the Center Director and Site Administrator.

Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree or two-year University/College equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-years experience in social science research environment
  • Excellent organization, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate several simultaneous project activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Eligible to work for any employer in the US
  • COVID-19 proof of full vaccination

Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct field quantitative and qualitative data collection and provide data according to given protocols and timelines (e.g., survey data, individual semi-structured interviews, and focus groups)
  • Assist with and /or lead data entry, cleaning, merging, and management
  • Review, edit, and help finalize survey instruments and reports
  • Participate in team meetings as requested
  • Coordinate with team members concerning assignments and scheduling
  • Provide support for manuscript development as required; literature searches; draft manuscript sections
  • Technical editing; may serve as co-author on manuscripts or study reports
  • Proofread and edit correspondence and other administrative documents
  • Assist with proposal and manuscript submissions (including editing, Endnote, and creation of graphs and tables)
  • Assist with center website and social media, including drafting of study / funding summaries and media releases as well as monitoring and updating of content
